Farm Loan Programs

Disaster Program: Scheduled to be released in late March, 2005. More coming soon!l

Youth Loans- Available for youths ages 8-21 for up to $5,000.  These loans can be used for any profit-type ag business.  The youth must be sponsored by 4-H, FFA, etc.

Milk Incentive Loss Contract (MILC): Signup started August 13, 2002, and will continue through September 30, 2005.  Producers who wish to apply for the program should call for an appointment and bring their milk marketed from December 1, 2001 through the present.  There is a limit of 2.4 million pounds and producers must sign a AD-1026 for conservation compliance.Payments are now being issued for MILC payments

Beginning Farmer Loans- These are specifically for beginning farmers or ranchers. Low interest rates are available.

LDP’s- In order to apply for a LDP, the 2004 crop must be harvested and the operator must still have beneficial interest at the time of the LDP request.  There are rates for corn and oats at this time.

Direct Loans-These loans are available for operating or real estate costs.  Loans can be used for purchasing livestock, supplies, feed, seed, etc.  Can be used for refinancing indebtedness with certain limitations.

Non-Insured Assistance Program (NAP)-Dates will be posted to the website in regards to all NAP DATES.  Be sure to file a crop report for this program. For Non Insurable crops such as ginseng, floraculture, honey, forage crops and many other crops, you can purchase catastrophic coverage for these crops for $100 per crop up to $300 per county.  Call for details.

Guaranteed Loans- These loans are financed by conventional lenders and guaranteed by FSA.  Loans can be for operating or real estate purchase.  Some interest assist may be available.

Direct and Counter Cylical Program:This program replaces the 7 year AMTA program. You must sign your DCP contracts EVERY YEAR before June 1 or there will be a $100 late fee per farm.  You must also make crop reports before July 15 each year.  Call for more information.

Loans for Socially Disadvantaged Persons- Targets direct and guaranteed loan assistance to minorities.  Farm ownership and operating loans are available.  Funds specifically for these loans are reserved each year.  This includes women.

Conservation Reserve Program: This is cost-share program that pays annual rental payments for retiring crop land and putting it into permanent grasses or tree plantings. .

Facility Loans:You can obtain a VERY Low interest loan for building storage for grain or grain forage such as a grain bin, drying unit, bunker silo, cement silo, refurbished Harvestore, or flat storage.  This is a 7 year loan and the interest remains the same as in the month the application is approved for the life of the loan.  You need only 15% down and there is a $45 loan fee.  You do not have to be turned down by conventional lending in order to get a facility loan.
