Mission Statement

To help people conserve, sustain and improve our natural resources and environment by providing on-site technical assistance.

Our Vision: NRCS... A conerstone of the natural resourses community.

What does the NRCS do?

The Natural Resources Conservation Service is the federal agency that works with landowners on private lands in Taylor and Price Counties to conserve our natural resources.  We provide technical assistance to help farmers plan and apply conservation systems that are suited to their land and individual ways of doing business.  We also provide assistance to other landowners and rural communities, to reduce erosion, conserve and protect water and help solve other resource concerns.

NRCS Responsiblities

1. Provide Technical Assistance for Conservation.  We provide one-on-one technical assitance to landowners to develop and implement conservation plans, which protect the soil, water, plant, air and animal resources.

2. Highly Erodible land and Wetland Identification. We provide the technical determination for Highly Erodible Lands and identification delineation of wetlands on agricultural lands and on all lands for USDA program participants.
