Rotax 532

Dear Tech Guy
Thank you for an informative web site on Rotax engines and such. If you have a second I would appreciate some advice... I have a Rotax 532 s/n 377XXXX, (I can't remember the rest off hand), 4 holes on the PTO end and was made in 1989. Does this sound like a provision 4 case? Anyway here's my problem, I have a fairly new "C" box (less than 10 hours) that I would like to use...I know Rotax made a provision 8 case for the 532 in 1989...can I use my provision 4 case with the "C" box? Do I have to find a provision 8 case?
Sincerely grateful, Jim Charleston, SC

Jim - Thanks for the kind words. As far as your engine goes if the 4 holes are drilled and tapped it is a provision 4, unfortunately the c box will not fit on a provision 4 engine, You will need a newer engine type. The provision 8 case also has larger PTO end bearings so a case alone will not solve your problem. You would be better off to look for a newer 582 engine type. Good luck!
