WORD 2000
Creating and Editing a WORD Document
overview: This lecture introduces starting Word and using the Word window to create a document. Before entering any text in the document, students learn how to change the font size. As students enter text, they learn about formatting marks, Wordwrap, Word’s spell checker, and scrolling. Once the document is saved, students format paragraphs and characters in the document. Next, they insert a graphic, and center and resize it. They also discover how to save and print a document, quit Word, and open a document. With the technologies presented, students learn to move the insertion point so they can insert, delete, and modify text. Finally, students find out how to use the Word Help system.

Note:  We have recently added flatbed scanners to the Science Central, CCC 307 and HEC 147 computer labs. With these additions, all public computer labs have a flatbed scanner for use by students or anyone else with a logon. You can use these scanners for digitizing photos and print material. We have capabilities for scanning slides in the labs listed above as well as in the LRC 023 and FAC A104i labs. Ask a lab assistant for help with scanning if you are not familiar with the process or our equipment.
